Orchids occur in nature in many different colours and present an opportunity to the artist to explore the shapes of colour in the flowers. It is a fun activity to mix the colours you see and apply them on the canvas. The huge databank of reference pictures of orchids taken in Orchid Garden in Singapore gave me the base to try and paint orchids.
